SOLDIER’S WISH SELECTED AS CHARITY OF CHOICE FOR 2014 CHRISTMAS PARADE
TULSA, OKLAHOMA (December 10, 2014) – Tulsa Christmas Parade announced that Soldier’s Wish has been selected as the charity of choice in the downtown Christmas Parade on December 13, 2014. A portion of the funds will benefit the organization by helping grant wishes to soldiers, veterans and their families. Soldier’s Wish has traveled the country over the past two years and granted wishes to deserving veterans and their families as a way to say thank you.
Executive Director, Kevin McDugle, who has been chosen as the Grand Marshal of the parade, announced that as part of the parade a soldier’s family will receive a big surprise. Last Christmas, Soldier’s Wish granted a special wish to a soldier from the Warrior Transition Unit Ft. Hood at Bass Pro Shops in Broken Arrow, OK.
“There wasn’t a dry eye that Christmas Eve when the injured Soldier came out of the store to see such a crowd of people honoring this Hero for his sacrifice to our country. I am humbled and grateful to have the privilege of helping great men and women like this,” stated McDugle.
The downtown Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on December 13th and children will have the opportunity to write a letter to Santa.
