Timothy R. Seckel joined the Army as a Calvary Scout in 2005. Just one month into his second tour in Iraq, the Humvee Tim was riding in struck an IED killing his combat buddy and breaking Tim's back. With the left side of his body paralyzed and in dire need for medical care, Tim was involved in an hour long fire fight with the enemy until he was rescued.
Tim was awarded the Purple Heart while at the medical center in Baghdad before he was flown to Germany for further medical care. Once stateside, Tim faced multiple surgeries and was diagnosed with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Tim returned to his home state of Texas - required continued medical care for his injuries-and quickly begun volunteering his time to help other veterans and wounded heroes. He especially enjoys helping to organize clay shooting and hunting trips for disabled veterans, Tim had never been elk hunting... something he has always wanted to do.
Tim will be going on a guided Elk hunt for five days in Walden, Colorado with four other wounded warriors. Soldier's Wish, with our great Tulsa Community partner - TRIAD BANK - is proud to be able to provide this wish to an American Hero like Tim!
